Homeowners Want New Look for Honed Travertine

Scottsdale homeowners contacted us to ask us about changing the finish of their exterior travertine tops from honed to polished. We encouraged them to go with a light polish, because a full grind high polish would likely not last long in the Arizona sun, and the strong reflection of sunlight would be hard on the eyes.

Travertine Stain Removal and Polish

First, we masked and protected the surfaces surrounding our work areas. Then, we used abrasive diamond pads to remove minor surface damage and erase signs of wear, and used progressively finer grits to achieve a slightly reflective, light polish.

The homeowners were very happy with the subtle, yet significant difference our refinishing services made for the travertine in their outdoor living space.
