Q
Can granite scratch, chip or stain?
-
A.
Granite is one of the toughest stones available, but it is not impervious. The great news is that it can be restored and maintained. We can hone and polish away scratches, remove most stains, and fill in chipped areas.
-
Q
What kind of satisfaction guarantee do you offer?
-
A.
We are never satisfied until you are and strive to always provide excellence in our services.
-
Q
How much dust will be created during the restoration of my wood floor?
-
A.
We attach industrial-powered vacuums to our sanding equipment, which eliminates almost all the dust. You can expect the equivalent of only two weeks worth of household dust to appear, and cleaning this up is part of our normal routine for every wood floor refinishing job.
-
Q
How much dust will be created during the restoration of my natural stone floor?
-
A.
There is no dust created during the stone restoration process, because we use diamond abrasives and water, which produces a thin paste known as “slurry” in the stone restoration industry. We vacuum the slurry and clean up any remaining residue as part of our normal routine for every floor polishing job.

Q
Is it better to repair my cracked natural stone tiles or replace them?
-
A.
We prefer to maintain and restore rather than replace, however, if the tile is shattered or too badly damaged, replacement may be the best option. Contact us for an estimate, so we can assess your needs.
-
Q
Can Beyond Stone Solutions remove my existing countertops? If so, does this usually happen on the same day as the installation?
-
A.
We can remove your existing countertops. Contact us for a free estimate on this service. Normally we remove old countertops on the day of installation, but with complicated or large jobs, we occasionally schedule tear out services the day before installation.
-
Q
What is the process for replacing my countertops?
-
A.
First, you meet with a sales consultant. We review your plans and estimate the square footage required. Next, you select your surface. Once we agree on a price, you'll sign a contract and pay a deposit. We then template your countertops, order your materials, and set a date to install your countertops.

Q
My marble floor is very old, with scratches and cracks. Can it be restored or should I replace it?
-
A.
It is very rare that we recommend replacement. Virtually any damage to marble or other natural stone can be eliminated with repair and restoration services, which costs a lot less than replacement. Most likely, your marble floors can look brand new again. We will be happy to take a look at your floor and give you an estimate.

Q
How do I know whether my natural stone needs to be sealed?
-
A.
One method you can use to check if your stone needs to be resealed is to sprinkle some water on it. If the water soaks into the stone and does not bead up, then it probably needs to be sealed. You should also consider where the stone is located in your home or business, and what sort of traffic and use it is subject to. Not all stone needs to be sealed. Contact us to discuss your specific needs.
